Random Thoughts…

  1. Over the week, my thoughts lingered around the killing of 75 Jawans in Dantewada. I just could not understand how something like this could have happened? Heights of intelligence failure. It was right of the Home minister to tender his resignation…it is shameful and such incidents should not happen ever again. Can you imagine, our county has lost 75 of its bravest citizens. What a Loss! But what surprises me the most is that the public seems to have coolly moved on. I cannot help but draw parallels between the Mumbai attack and Dantewada massacre. When Mumbai happened, public was on the roads…angry…and they wanted answers. We turned out in our thousands…there were candle light vigils up and down the country..people were in mourning.  Why is it that we did not see such a reaction in response to this incident? Does the Jawans lives mean nothing to us. Is it because they do not speak English…or because they are not from big cities? We should be ashamed as a nation for letting this happen. I am not saying that naxals should be wiped out etc etc…I am not qualified to make any suggestions of such sort…but I feel this should not have ever happened. Cannot help but wonder what would have happened if 75 cops/security people were killed in UK (where I live)….would it have happened in the first place and even if it did…how would the government have reacted?
  2. I don’t feel like writing about the IPL any more. Somehow, seems very irrelevant. DC plays Bangalore today…and I hope they win. I was totally excited yesterday but after writing about Dantewada, IPL? Nahh! Don’t feel like it.
  3. I have decided to get an iPhone and not Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 as I posted in my earlier post. I went to a mobile store over the weekend and tried out a variety touch phones…and iPhone at the end of my inspection…and realised it’s so much more better than the rest. There are some cool apps….don’t know if I will use any but it’s nice to have them and some other interesting stuff!
  4. The weather kind of improved over the weekend but it’s dull and gloomy now…nothing new there but worth a mention 😀

Anyways, I want to end this post on a cheerful note, so here goes a very funny scene from Whose Line Is It Anyway..

Njoy!

The First Month – Yawwnn!!

2010 has been a big yawn for me! Cannot believe Jan is already over. Feels like we celebrated New Year’s just a week ago. Mann! Time flies! The Telangana agitation is still going on. Don’t think it’s going to stop any time soon. Sad state of affairs, though it doesn’t bother me as much as it used to. Is this not what we expect our politicians?? They are the most selfish lot on the face of this earth, aren’t they?  One thing I definitely do not support is the suicides. Totally disturbing. What about their families???  Ahh well, jo hoga, dekha jaega!

So, Andy Murray is through to the finals of The Australian open…Brits must be really chuffed!! Phir mile sur mera tumhara – the remixed version is out. I don’t know if you guys and gurls noticed…but as far as I am aware, there is not a single cricketer in the video which I think is great!!! I’ve had enough of seeing cricketers everwhere…they are there when you want to buy a bottle of jam, there when you want to buy an A/C, BHAM  – there when you go out to buy your chaddis. How pathetic! Don’t they make enough money already??? This is my synopsis of the first month of the year.

and they are not even that good 😛

Currently watching Ace Ventura – Part 1. Jim Carrey is awesomee!!!!

Don’t know the point of this post but though I’ll write something anyway. I know that my thoughts are all jumbled up but that’s what happens when you write whilst watching a movie 😀

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Ciao!

A Book about Blokes – Post meant for Ladies only :)

b686_1_b.jpg

‘The Big Book of Bloke Jokes’ by Louise Johnson 🙂 Sounds interesting right? S presented me with this book yesterday. Really nice of him for allowing me to read a book full of sexist jokes…on men!!! Some of the quippets are really funny…

“…..Why are blokes like Mascara?

They usually run at the first sign of emotion!

What do blokes consider house cleaning?

Lifting their feet so you can vacuum under them

What’s the best way to get a bloke to do something?

Suggest he’s too old for it….” 😀

This is just a glimpse of some of the one-liners, which are so very true. I haven’t finished the book yet but will do…very soon…

A Funny Story…

I was on board a train travelling to MK and engrossed reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when I realised I reached my destination (Yes…yes…I haven’t got around to reading the book yet…I have not been a great fan of HP anyway…). I gathered my stuff and my coat which I kept in the overhead luggage spaces…quickly got off, got into the car and came home. Later that night, I was putting away my stuff when I realised I couldn’t find my coat…my silk coat…and I had someone else’s winter coat in my hand!!!

I ran to S and told him what happened…he analysed the coat like Sherlock Holmes would and told me it belonged to a Chinese or a Japanese lady ‘cuz it had something in their language scribbled on it…and also warned me that the lady would be pretty annoyed with me..as if i didn’t know already 😛

I am not sure if I am still angry ‘cuz I have a strangers coat at home or because I lost my precious one 😦 Well anyways…I don’t expect her to find me and get her coat back…so decided to give it off to charity…unless, the lady reads this blogs and gets in touch… 😀
