I am soo excited. Read rediff reviews of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (JTYJN) and Love Story 2050 and you will know why. JTYJN apparently is jhakaas while the latter seems to be crap and boy am I happy!!!!!!!! I mean….going by the trailers itself…I had my own doubts about Love Story 2050. The Pink Teddy on Priyanka’s shoulders looks absurd, Harman’s dance with the robots…God!!! I mean c’mon….jhatak mataks in a land of robots??? Be realistic!!! Imagine a bhangra number suddenly popping up in Will Smith’s ‘I RObot’ or Bruce Wills’s ‘Fifth Element’. GOsh!! I do like our song & dance numbers but they should be situational.
I desperately want to watch JTYJN. Songs are wonderful…I listen to them atleast 5 times a day…loved Genelia in Bommarillu….Imran seems to have got his acting skills from Uncle Aamir and Abbas Tyrewala is definately one of the most talented guy’s in Bollywood…it cannot get better than this and Pappu Can’t Dance Saala basically rounds up my Philosphy of life 😈

HULK:
I LOVED THE MOVIE! Edward Norton (HULK) is one of my FAV actors. There’s this innocence about his face. There’s so much love in the movie.
Incredible HULK is definately different to the previous HULK since this HULK doesn’t want to be the angry green man anymore. Liv Tyler is fab too as HULK’s ‘girl friend’. Though sometimes, it did feel like I was watching Beauty and the Beast 😀
Special effects are fantastic….though I thought HULK could be a little more good looking 😉
There definately will be HULK 3 and it could have Iron Man in it 😀 That will be fabulous! To know why…you should go watch the movie.
Overall, the movie is thrilling, exciting, full of action, lots of love and fantastic locales (e.g. Brazil).

DASAVATHARAM
The first tamil movie I watched was Sivaji because of all the hype and it did not have subtitles 😦 Considering I don’t speak or understand a single word of tamil, it was a nightmare. I had to be satisfied with the eccentricites of RajiniKanth….which were surprisingly entertaining. It was astonishing that there were just 10 pple in the screen watching the movie.
It was a different story for Dasavatharam. People were standing and watching the movie and it had subtitles too 😀 and what should I say about Kamal Hassan. He is simply FANTASTIC. He is truly blessed. He plays ten characters in the movie; Govind Ramasaamy (the real Kamal Hassan), Rangaraja Nambi (devotee of Lord Vishnu), George Bush, Avtar Singh (a famous pop singer), Christian Fletcher (ex-CIA member aka the villian), Shinghen Narahasi (Chinese martial arts master), Krishnaveni (grandma), Vincent Poovaraagan (social activist), Kalifullah Khan (a rather tall muslim man) and Balaram Naidu (my favourite character of all…RAW official…and a telugu).
The movie starts off sometime in the 12th century. Rangaraja Nambi is drowned in the sea with the idol of Lord Vishnu by the King who is a follower of Lord Shiva. He is reborn in the 21st century as Govind Ramasamy and works for a Biotech COmpany in the US. His company is on the verge of selling a very effective but a dangerous bio-chemical weapon to the US army and Govind is out to stop this from happening. THis takes him from US to India. Following his every movie is Christian Fletcher (Kamal again) who has been assigned by the weapons manufacturer to kill Govind and get the sample back. Govind is held captive by RAW officials (Balram Naidu also Kamal) on his return India and the rest of the story is revolves around how Govind retrives the sample and saves the world 🙂
Kamal Hassan touches on many issues in the movie….from Global Warming, to War….from Social Discrimination to Religion. Considering his age…he’s in good shape. I have been a great fan of his dancing skills since Sagara Sangamam.
I was trying to find a video of Malalai Joya on youtube and ended up watching a few videos of AR Rahman Live in Concert in US…back in 2005. Why do musicians I love always go to the US? Why don’t they come to the UK? 😥
AR did tour the UK once, way back in 2004 and we were lucky to get a few tickets and what a show it was!!!! Rocking!!! I was jumping, dancing, singing…even thinking about it now gives me goosebumps.
If you are reading this post Rahman (:D) please please plzzzz come to the UK and let the show last for atleast 8 hrs….5 is wayyy tooo shorttt!!! Phuullleezzzzzzz!!!!!! 😳
SPB is superb! He sings with such ease. His voice is like honey. Love Him Love Him Love Him.
Weekend Movies:
I don’t understand a single word of tamil…but what the hell…it’s got Kamal Hassan in it…that too in 10 diff roles 😀
Not very excited about Mere Baap Pehle Aap…watching it only for Paresh Rawal. Some what excited about Gone Baby Gone and definately excited about The Incredible Hulk 😀
I still have to write my review for Mongol and all these other movies soon 🙄 I shall pick my favourite from the lot.
Oh yea..apart from watching movies…I also have to pack! Just Fantastic! 😡
I love weekends…..’cuz that’s when S and I are out and about without a care in the world…watching movies, eating out etc etc. I am especially excited about today. I will be watching Sex and the City…Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay 😀 and then Sex and the City. Being a lady, I know most of you would expect me to watch Sex and the City first…but Harold and Kumar seems to be hillarious and I think Kal Penn is fantastic. Was watching House yesterday and I am soo glad it has Kal Penn. He is the ‘funny bone’ of the show…not that he doesn’t involve in serious talk (medical stuff)…otherwise he wouldn’t have been an intern with House…which means he wouldn’t have been in the show…welll nyways…I am just glad he is there. It is nice to see an Indian American actor getting such a good role…..and not one of the stereotypical one…if you know what I mean.
Coming to Sex and the City. Frankly, I was never a great fan of the show. My life does not revolve just around men, clothes and looking good. A real woman’s life never does. I love the clothes…I love the way they dress up and all…but it stops there. Yes…I do understand that it’s tough to be single after a certain age 😛 …but that doesn’t mean you sleep with every other guy and expect your ‘Prince Charming’ to be one of them.
Anyways, I shall write the reviews for both the movies very soon 🙂 Have a great weekend 😀
Our long weekend will be ending in about 5 hours from now and what a wonderful weekend it was. S, I and couple of our friends went to Blemheim Palace near Oxford City. Except for the cloudy weather and the elaborate history on the life of Sir Winston Churchill at the Palace, it was excellent. The gardens were beautiful. Apparently, the current resident of the Palace is John George Vanderbilt Henry Spencer-Churchill, 11th Duke of Marlborough(No…I didn’t by heart the whole thing…I cut and paste it :D) and how lucky is he to be living in such a beautiful place.
The pictures below were taken in one of the palace gardens’ called the ‘Secret Garden’…sounds mystical doesn’t it? And it is equally beautiful. Two of the pics below…
